Founded in 1977, the Wilmington Road Runners Club is one the oldest continuously operating clubs in North Carolina. Our 400+ members run the gamut from speedy racers to occasional joggers, bonded by the simple pleasure of putting one foot ahead of the other o the roads and trails of New Hanover County... and beyond. The club supports numerous events over the course of the entire year: - Competitive Events - Grand Prix Race Series - Charitable races and relays - Group training runs - Fun runs - Social gatherings - Community service programs The membership is comprised of runners and walkers of all ages and abilities who are interested in having fun while supporting each other and the community at large. The club promotes health and fitness, and also orchestrates important programs to the benefit of others including a college scholarship program. The WRRC is your Club if you choose to make it so. Members are encouraged to attend the open Board meetings and to contribute to the website, make suggestions for new running or social activities, volunteer to help at local road races, or contribute in any way you may want to. . Whether you are a seasoned athlete, training for your first half-marathon, or just a Sunday runner, the Wilmington Road Runners has something going that is just right for you.
