Club Bio

New Mexico Sol Running Club is a nonprofit USA Track & Field (USATF) member club, offering running instruction to youth athletes ages 5 through 18. Our goal is not only to develop successful, competitive track and field and distance running programs for youth athletes, but for every child to feel a part of a team and see physical activity as something they can all enjoy. As coaches and volunteers, our desire is to provide a positive environment that lays the foundation for a lifetime of physical activity. We welcome ALL children who love to run… whether they are beginners or seasoned runners who have been running for years. Our team consists of beginners to national championship qualifiers and All-American runners. Incorporated into our training program are core strength and flexibility development and training methodologies that provide for a competitive environment while avoiding injury. We also develop leadership and responsibility skills as well as proper time management. All youth athletes receive individual attention which allows them to feel included and gives them the support needed to develop the skills of running. This ultimately helps them build confidence they will carry with them throughout their careers as they continue to compete through high school, college, and beyond. By teaching values such as respect for others and for self, persistence, teamwork, and self-discipline, we have a positive impact in all areas of their lives. Running has been proven to improve health, prevent diseases, lose weight, boost confidence, relieve stress and eliminate depression. Our aim is to develop winning, productive members of society while instilling a lifelong love of running. Through the sport of track and field and distance running, our coaches and mentors help prevent kids from developing a sedentary lifestyle. We love making kids strong, resilient and courageous.
