Club Bio

Established in 1974, the Austin Runners Club is a non-profit, volunteer organization with members of all ages and running and walking abilities. The club is organized exclusively for charitable, health, and educational purposes. The Austin Runners Club shall promote and encourage running, walking, wheelchair racing, and related activities in order to educate the public to their benefits. The Austin Runners Club shall maintain competitive and non-competitive activities for its membership and for the general public. ARC has weekly training runs, social runs, and our members have access to numerous membership benefits. ARC organizes the Daisy 5K (established in 1978), the Decker Challenge Half Marathon (established in 1979) and the Austin Distance Challenge (established in 1996).
