Club Bio
Our Mission: North Brooklyn Runners grew from a longing for the camaraderie and motivation of having a team to run with. We welcome and support runners of all abilities—from beginners to Olympic Trials qualifiers—pairing enthusiasm for our running-related goals and our North Brooklyn neighborhood. We offer a wide availability of training runs, resources, and events along with a free membership. We show pride in our neighborhood by volunteering for local nonprofit organizations, and give back to our running community by volunteering for races and events. History: Formed in January 2009, North Brooklyn Runners grew from a longing for the camaraderie and motivation of having a team to run with. There are plenty of running groups throughout Manhattan and Prospect Park-centric Brooklyn, but nothing in our part of town. We’re really excited about bringing together runners in this area, of all fitness and experience levels, who just want perhaps a bit of team spirit, a running buddy, or who want to train for their next half-marathon and want to kick some ass. The vision is that people will find running partners, will share tips about how to run in cold weather, will run races together, and just make new friends! Whatever you’re here for, you are very welcome! Who We Are: The group is made up of all paces and experience levels. We have Olympic Trials Qualifiers and people who are brand new to running. Some NBR members want to meet new people, some want to finish a run of 3 miles, some want to train with others, and some want to get a PR. We have milers to marathoners. Our team is run by volunteers and our membership is free.
