Club Bio
Are you looking for a little extra accountability to get you moving in the morning? Moral support as you tackle a big goal? Or just some friendly conversation? Running with us can provide all that and more, for free. The Loudoun Road Runners is open to all runners and walkers no matter their abilities or goals. Our members come in many shapes and sizes, range from young to old, and include everyone from fresh beginners to seasoned ultra marathoners. Founded in 1992, the club is a non-profit organization sanctioned by the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). Being part of the RRCA network of more than 2,400 clubs nationwide carries a number of membership benefits. We meet every Tuesday and Thursday morning in Leesburg, Virginia. On Saturday and Sunday mornings you’ll find us further afield at scenic points around Loudoun County. We go out rain or shine, in sleet or heat. And after each run, you’re almost guaranteed to have company for coffee, tea, or snacks. Although you don't have to be an active member to run with us, just $20 a year for an individual or $30 for a family keeps the club functioning and allows us to give back to the Northern Virginia community in the form of scholarships, support for local charity races, and more. Other benefits include: - Insurance - Club elections - Social events like the Annual General Meeting, holiday party, and post-run breakfast potlucks - Occasional training programs - Members-only Facebook page
