Club Bio
The Greater New Bedford Track Club is a community-based organization that promotes fellowship through running and group activities throughout the South Coast of Massachusetts. The GNBTC promotes running at all levels and abilities. Runners and walkers are always welcomed. Started in 1978, the GNBTC has a long history of community involvement and fitness advocacy. Currently, there are over 200 members, club-sponsored races, an active recognition program and various social gatherings throughout the year. Ongoing runs are organized by members and regular free, casual running events are hosted by the club during the year. Members of the GNBTC come from towns all over the region, from Wareham to Rehoboth---there are out-of state members from Rhode Island, Maine and Georgia. The club includes runners, walkers, trail runners, marathoners, elite runners, ultra-runners and even non-runners among its membership. Administrative organization of the GNBTC is structured in the By-Laws, with a member-elected Executive Board as the governing body. Membership registration requires yearly dues.
