Club Bio
The Greater Buffalo Track Club's (GBTC) primary purpose is to provide runners with opportunities to run and train with others of comparable interests and abilities. The club is open to anyone interested in running and related athletic activities - runners of all skill levels are welcome! Members participate in weekly track workouts, club sponsored running races, the annual club party and other events. Our club’s members regularly volunteer to participate in planning and staging club races and as well as volunteering large regional races such as the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge and Buffalo Marathon. The GBTC's annual flagship race is the Greater Buffalo Track Club - Grand Island Half Marathon held at Beaver Island State Park. The club also sponsors a 1 mile track race and a 5K cross country event. Formed in 1988, the Greater Buffalo Track Club (GBTC) is a member of the USATF and Road Runners Club of America. The Greater Buffalo Track Club is a New York State not-for-profit corporation. Since inception the GBTC has donated to numerous causes and organizations such as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Special Olympics, The Berkshire Farm Center for Youth, the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce Youth Ambassador Program and Glory Be to Kids. GBTC members enjoy the comradery of sharing stories, food, drink and helping to set the vision for upcoming events during our regular club meetings. We look forward to welcoming old members and new to our various events!
