In 1982, a small group of queer walkers & runners gathered at the University of Kentucky’s water tower to run and build community. Today we continue that tradition. Frontrunners Lexington is a 501c3 non-profit in Lexington, Kentucky. We promote health and fitness in the Bluegrass region, particularly for the LGBTQ+ and other marginalized communities. We meet twice a week, and we host the Pride Run 5K in the fall. We raise funds for LGBTQ+ charities and programs to fight AIDS, secure education equity, and protect our most vulnerable.
