Donner Party Mountain Runners is a grassroots 501(c)(3) non-profit running club based in Truckee, California, with members from all around the region, the U.S., and the world. The Truckee-Tahoe region has long been home to many avid trail runners, and a destination for many others to explore and enjoy our world-class trails and scenery. We founded this club in 2014 to share our passion for trail running in these beautiful mountains. Our name honors the early emigrants to California, especially those in the ill-fated Donner Party, who faced the mountains under incredibly difficult circumstances. They were, like modern trail runners, UNAFRAID.
